How will I be prepared for court?

Return to "Nine things you need to know before choosing a Personal Injury Lawyer"

The way we prepare you is by familiarizing you with what to expect during a trial. We’ll sit down with you, we’ll go over how to relate to a jury, how to make eye contact with the jury, how to speak to the jury. A lot of people are unfamiliar with the process and if they learn a little bit about what to expect—maybe if it’s just even a matter of looking at the courtroom, or using the mock courtroom that we have here—people get a little more comfortable and I think that assists with the trial preparation. More importantly, we sit down and we talk to you, we listen to you. You have to find out about the client and learn about what the client’s story is and what the client’s particular circumstances are before you can even figure out what questions you are going to ask that client. So I think the first part of it is listening to the client and the second part is explaining to the client what to expect.

Super Lawyers Selection Process Blessed by Courts and Bar Associations Across the Country

Bar associations and courts across the country have recognized the legitimacy of the Super Lawyers selection process. Most recently, the New Jersey Supreme Court upheld the findings of a Special Master assigned by the court to, among other things, examine the details of our rating process. In his July 2008 report, the Special Master lauded our lawyer-rating process, stating:

“[The Super Lawyers selection process] is a comprehensive, good-faith and detailed attempt to produce a list of lawyers that have attained high peer recognition, meet ethical standards, and have demonstrated some degree of achievement in their field."

"Suffice to say, the selection procedures employed by [Super Lawyers] are very sophisticated, comprehensive and complex."
