Video Transcript

Medical malpractice cases are a special type of case. They require a lawyer that has a great deal of experience handling these types of cases. The plaintiff is required to hire and work with an expert witness in the same field of medicine in the area in which they believe the malpractice occurred. It's that witness' responsibility to explain to the jury what the standard of care required and how the doctor, nurse, or hospital on the other side violated that standard of care. If the lawyer that you hire doesn't have experience in locating, working with, and dealing with these types of experts, then the plaintiff is at a tremendous disadvantage. So the most important thing when considering a malpractice case is the lawyer that you hire. Make sure they have experience and knowledge to handle the case correctly.
