ATTORNEY: If you're facing an IRS audit with complicated issues, you need an attorney with experience with the IRS Office of Appeals and tax court procedures. What many people don't understand is that the exam is only the first step in that process. Most complicated issues get resolved in IRS appeals or in tax court.

During an exam, an IRS revenue agent has limited ability to resolve a complicated issue. Only the IRS Office of Appeals or Chief Counsel's office has the authority to compromise issues that are not black and white.

Our senior staff has spent decades working for the IRS, and we know the process inside and out. Each year we represent hundreds of taxpayers in disputes with the IRS. When the IRS won't agree with our positions, we frequently find that a federal judge will.
