Douglas J. Olcott: If you're driving your vehicle on the roads in Pennsylvania, you need to make sure that you have sufficient coverage to protect yourself and your family. First off, you want to make sure that you have sufficient limits to protect yourself in the event that you yourself are sued if you're at fault for an accident. Equally as important, however, is something called uninsured and/or underinsured motorist coverage. That protects you in the event that you're involved in an accident and the person who caused your injuries either is uninsured or doesn't have enough insurance to compensate you for your injuries. So, we always encourage people who call our office to review their automobile insurance policy, make sure that the limits of their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage are equal to the amount of coverage that they're buying to protect themselves in case they're sued.
