[GRAPHIC: Ask Super Lawyers, Do I have to see a workers' compensation doctor in Pennsylvania? Attorney Kathleen Robertson responds.]

Kathleen Robertson: When a worker's injured in Pennsylvania, following that injury, there is a rule in Pennsylvania that for the first 90 days they're required to treat with a panel physician. A panel physician is a physician that has been approved by their employer. However, certain requirements must be met. One, that list of panel physicians must be posted in a place where the worker can see it, such as a break room or other room where the employees generally are gathered. In addition, the employer must obtain a written signature from the employee indicating that they have received notice of that, both before the injury as well as after the injury.
