[GRAPHIC: Ask Super Lawyers, What does a workers' compensation attorney charge for services in Pennsylvania? Attorney Kathleen Robertson responds.]

Kathleen Robertson: If you're already receiving workers' compensation benefits at the time you would call into our office, and it's a situation where we're just simply reviewing your claim, evaluating it to make sure that everything is in fact in order and that you are receiving the correct amount of benefits that you're entitled to under the law, there's no fee for that. The way our fee works is that only if we obtain additional benefits for you, get an increase in the amount of your benefits, would an attorney fee apply, and that would be 20 percent of any amount that we would get increased with respect to your benefits. It's always a good idea to have an attorney take a look at that case, take a look at the average weekly wage calculations, the comp rate, as well as the description of injury and make sure, in fact, everything is correct so that there are no problems going forward.
